Graduates of the UT Tyler bachelor of arts in English program go on to such diverse employment opportunities as: Brookshire Grocery Human Resources Department; Japanese Assistant Teacher Program; working as grant-funding agents; and teaching in school districts throughout Texas and beyond.

Other graduates have pursued master’s degrees in English at UT Tyler and other institutions or entered law school.

Bachelor’s in English: Explore Literature, Creative Writing, Language

  • Expand your language literacy: UT Tyler is the only university in Texas where you can take foreign languages such as Chinese and Spanish to fulfill foreign language requirements for the English degree and, at the same time, for minors in Asian studies, classical studies and Spanish.
  • Join the Costa Rica Spanish Immersion program for three weeks in Summer II at the National University of Costa Rica in Heredia, where you will study and explore while earning six academic credit hours.
